The Truckee Fire Protection District is accepting applications for: Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic, Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic, Full Time and Part-Time Firefighter/Paramedic.
About the District The Truckee Fire Protection District is an "All Risk" district, responding to the needs of the community, regardless of the nature of the incident. Firefighters perform Structural Firefighting, Vehicle Extrication, Confined Space Rescue, Airport Rescue Firefighting, Hazardous Materials response, Urban Search and Rescue, High Angle Rescue, Swift Water and Ice Rescue, Dive Rescue Operations and Wildland Firefighting. The District is also a transporting ALS provider. Its jurisdictional boundary is approximately 120 square miles. The District is a bi-county special district established in 1894 serving the Town of Truckee and unincorporated areas of Nevada and Placer Counties managed by a Fire Chief and a 5-member Board of Directors. The Truckee Fire Protection District has 4-staffed stations. Employing 39 full-time firefighters.
