The Town of Truckee is currently accepting applications for a full-time Administrative Technician in our Public Works Department to support our Fleet/Facilities/Trails, Roads/Snow and Transit Divisions. A typical way to obtain the required experience is with two years of responsible administrative support or technical experience and/or an equivalent to an associate’s degree with course work in public administration, business administration, accounting, industrial relations, or a related field.

To perform a variety of technical level administrative duties in support of a Town department or program; to research, collect, and analyze data and prepare draft reports; to track and report operational statistics; to provide technical assistance to management; and to provide general information and assistance to the public, Town staff, and outside organizations and agencies.

This is a single level class where employees within this class perform the full range of technical administrative duties. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.

Receives general supervision from a department director or division head.
May exercise technical and functional supervision over support staff
