CNC Setup Operator
General Description: Perform setup on CNC machines for first run parts, edits and reads programs and blueprints, maintains and creates setup instructions for operators.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Perform CNC operations - Operate machines in accordance with engineering process sheets and any other required paperwork. - Edit and or retrieve CNC programs from file systems and execute and save once proven. - Use manufacturing paperwork (travelers, Blueprints, and sketches) to manufacture product that meets quality requirements. - Meet time and schedule standards for assigned work. - Advise supervision of any issues that arise. - Able to do offset, setting, compensations and conditional switches. Calculations of tool speeds and feeds is a must. - Ability to troubleshoot and troubleshoot quickly. - Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and process. - Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. - Ability to inspect own work by use of measurement tools. - Ability to communicate and work well with other team members.
Necessary Skills & Experience: - Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents commensurate with machine operation - A genuine belief in continuous improvement and discipline process and willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes, if needed. - Organizational and time management skills. - Firm understanding of CNC programs and equipment (CNC Mills and Lathes). - Confidence to approach management with suggestions to changes to process, if needed. - Two or more years performing CNC setups and operation.
