Substance Use Disorders Peer Counselor
Mariposa Heritage House is accepting applications for a full-time Substance Use Disorders Peer Counselor. The successful candidate will work with clients with substance use disorders, including their family and friends and are responsible for providing intakes and assessments, group facilitation, counseling, service coordination, education and advocacy to participants of Mariposa Heritage House with a focus on enhancing recovery. Additionally, you will work closely with community partners, including probation and drug-court and provide and coordinate support services as part of this multi-disciplinary team. This position will provide ongoing case management to SUD and criminal justice involved clients and make recommendations, as indicated. Additionally, the counselor will carry out some of their duties in the detention center, coordinate peer supporter trainings and assist in volunteer trainings scheduled throughout the year. An understanding of accepted principles in client record management is required. This position will be responsible for providing education and training to our community partners and will work under the direction and supervision of the Program Director.
Current and valid Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification or current and valid RADT registration. 1 year minimum experience. Full-time, 40 hours per week, $18.67 per hour. 10 paid holidays, 152 hours of paid time off per year, cafeteria plan with health, dental, life and retirement benefits options.
