The County of Alpine Announces an Employment Opportunity for Senior Deputy Probation Officer Probation Department, Markleeville, CA. Salary Range 47: ($27.76-$33.75) per hour Final Filing Date: Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Under general direction, participates in the more complex, sensitive, and specialized probation duties; performs a variety of duties related to intake, court and field probation services for juvenile and adult probationers; provides recommendations to the court; manages assigned caseload; provides counseling and guidance; enforces the conditions of the probation; investigates, coordinates and provides direct services for probation related programs; and perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduation from college or university with a major in criminology, social welfare, sociology, psychology, or closely related field. Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional probation experience.

Other Requirements: Possession of a valid driver’s license. Completion of the Basic Probation Course as certified by the Board of Corrections Certificate for Deputy Probation Officer Core Training and evidence of continued compliance with annual training requirements. Possession of a CPR-First Aid Certificate is desirable.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 100% FTE in a five step salary system with advancement upon satisfactory completion of a one year probationary period and annual increases thereafter. o Health Insurance: County provides medical, dental and vision coverage for employees with co-payment by employees, dependent upon family status. o Vacation: Accrued at the rate of 6.67 hours per month, or 10 vacation days per year. o Sick Leave: Earned at the rate of 8 hours per month. o Holidays: 15 paid holidays per year. o Retirement: Participation in the California Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), 2% at 62 plan for New Members o Deferred Compensation: Voluntary deferred compensation program offered. o Alpine County is a drug, alcohol and smoke-free workplace.
